The older that I get, the more I appreciate getting in on the ground floor of "what's cool." A couple months back, Trivia Crack was gaining popularity with my circle of friends. When I challenged my (high school-aged) brother to a "friendly game of crack" he informed me that Trivia Crack had gotten popular in his school weeks ago and had, in fact, already become uncool. It was definitely a "I used to be with it, but then they changed what 'it' was" moment for me.
In the last couple of weeks, two new streaming apps have burst onto the scene and really started to carve out a new exciting app category for users. I was a very early adopter of Meerkat, and actually signed up for a Periscope account the day that the app launched. And if I'm honest with myself, this is probably a sign that neither app will be particularly successful.
